Press Release 02 (18.04.2019)
Rallye Český Krumlov is knocking on the door. Entries are now being accepted
The countdown may start. One month is left to the start of 47th Rallye Český Krumlov. The elite of the domestic rallysport will present themselves in South Bohemia on May 17-18. That is why the organizers of this traditional event included in the FIA Central Rally Trophy series, Autoklub Czech Republic Championship in car rally and national championship of historic vehicles, published the basic document, Supplementary Regulations, in the recent days.
47th Ralllye Český Krumlov
Crews interested to take part in this year‘s Rallye Český Krumlov can make electronic registration. Filling in the compulsory data will take just a couple minutes, and after submitting their data the crew will immediately appear on the list among other registered crews. The organizers from ÚAMK Automotoklub Rallye Český Krumlov and ČK motorsport have set the closing date to Sunday, May 2, 8 p.m. Central European Summer Time (GMT+2).
Besides contemporary and historic rally cars, also race cars tested for classes 14 to 18 may take part, as well as rally cars with national homologations from other ASNs or vehicles homologated in any EU country. The program will involve 13th year of Rallye Legends Show, the entry form for this exhibition ride will appear on the website of the competition in the next days.
Challenging track with novelties
The usual 15 special stages, over 160 km long which is almost 30 percent of the total length of the rally, are expecting the crews. It will be run on traditionally very demanding sections, although some special stages have undergone modifications this year, especially with regard to spectators.
The most significant modification has been made to the popular SS Ján that will offer a completely new and a very attractive spectator area at Blansko near Kaplice, close to the motocross track, with the SS start and a sharp turn over an edge. After a two-year pause, the track returns to local roads on the premises of the former Svatý Ján farm, however there will be a flying finish just behind the famous S-turn at the outbuildings. So this time fans will lack the downhill section with a sharp right turn onto the main road because that road is used as a detour route during a several months long repair of a bridge near Římov, and that is the reason why the organizers cannot close it for public traffic.
Spectators place in Bukovsko
Also the Saturday’s SS Kohout will offer new enjoyment, it will start at Bída and just after a couple hundreds meters a right handbrake U-turn follows known from the previous years in the opposite direction. A super tip for the track of this SS is another rallyesport bastion in South Bohemia. The Special Stage will be wound through the whole Soběnov, and so the spectators will be able to see the rally cars in the village centre several times. Like SS Kohout, also the SS Rožmitál will be run in the opposite direction, an artificial roundabout in Bukovsko after the start of SS Citajl will not be missing, nor the legendary place in Malonty.
The 47th Rallye Český Krumlov will start Friday, May 17 at 4 p.m. from the Exhibition Grounds (Výstaviště) with the popular Super Special Stage. The crews will race two more times on the grounds in the city centre. Like last year, the place will host the Friday evening Special Stage (19:58) that can be enjoyed by both motorsport and ice hockey fans. The LED screen by ÚAMK will permit watching live a world championship match between the Czech Republic and Italy near the Pavillion Z. One hour after Saturday midday fast wheels will re-appear in Birell Rallye Aréna where not only scrutineering and shakedown will be located but also a service area. As every year, the ceremonial start, finish and podium ceremony will take place in the parking area in Jelení zahrada beneath the Castle.
